Bad Moms

First there was "Bad Santa", "Bad Teacher", & "Bad Grandpa" and now here is "Bad Moms". If you have seen any of the first 3, it shouldn't be hard to figure out what to expect in this "R" rated romp where the girls get to be as raunchy as the guys have been on screen. This is kind of a "Mean Girls" version of the PTA queen bee & her wanna-bees versus those moms who desperately want to try to keep up but can't or won't. The comedy cast of funny ladies includes Mila Kunis, Kristen Bell, Christina Applegate, Jada Pinkett Smith, & Kathryn Hahn. This hilarious tribute to overworked under appreciated moms struggling to fit the ideal stereotype mom will probably be funnier to females because guys haven't walked in the same high heels. Although it's fun to see the women play this "being bad" game for a change, it still gets predictably repetitive after a while. This should be a great girls night out flick where the ladies can just cut loose & laugh a lot about I did that, I wish I could do that, or I can't do that. When the credits roll, look for a clip with the mom stars & their real moms discussing motherhood.

Alien gives it 2 ½ "being bad was never so good" stars out of 4.

Jason Bourne

Bourne is back! Matt Damon has teamed up again with director Paul Greengrass to co-produce a 5th Bourne film. Bourne has been living off the grid & playing International "Fight Club" until an old friend Nicky Parsons (Julia Stiles) uncovers blackops secrets to Bourne's past. From Greece to Iceland to Berlin to Langley to London to Las Vegas, it's a worldwide cat & mouse spy thriller as bodies drop left & right with a demolition derby being played out in the city streets. Newcomer Alicia Vikander is excellent as the ambitious CIA agent Heather Lee who has her own agenda to get ahead.  Is Bourne finally coming in or is he out for revenge? All roads lead to Vegas where Deep Dream CEO Aaron Kalloor meets with CIA Director Robert Dewey (Tommy Lee Jones) at EXPOCOM 2016 but the rest can't be divulged because what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas (hint: it does involve 170 vehicles though). With only a mere 25 lines of dialogue, Damon's Bourne let's his actions do most of his talking in this struggle for survival & over the people's privacy versus the people's security. Bourne's relentless nemesis here is only referred to as the "Asset". Cloaked in government secrecy, Damon & Greengrass give you what you love most about Bourne films, the spectacular vehicle chases & the hand-to-hand battles as the hero continues to outwit his opponents.

Alien gives it 3 ½ "Operation Iron Hand" stars out of 4.
