Georgia Rule

People of Hull, Idaho, lock up your men and boys because an out of control, wild child is being dropped off at Grammy’s for the summer. Three generations of great actresses, Jane Fonda, Felicity Huffman, and Lindsay Lohan, dominate this film about love, trust, and forgiveness when a little Lolita invades a Mayberryish town with Mormon values and quirky characters. This terrific chick flick pumped with estrogen will make you laugh and cry. Lohan’s performance as the adorable and devilish troublemaker carries the film, but with her off screen antics, is it really acting? Fonda is a winner as the no nonsense, tough love grandma. Huffman is convincing as the confused, dysfunctional alcoholic mom. Family secrets will be uncovered. It’s rated “R” for language and sexual content. It is a bit cheesy and contrived, but what else would you expect in Mayberry.

Alien gives it 3 ½ “wet hanky” stars out of 4.
