CJ7

This is not a sneak preview. This film has been already released.

Stephen Chow stars as a single parent struggling to make ends meet while sending his son to private school so the boy can have a better life. The son constantly gets picked on by other students and his teacher because poor background and virtually everything he has came from the junkyard. When he yearns for a high-tech robotic dog that they can’t afford, his dad brings him a strange green orb which turns out to be a cross between ET, Flubber, and a Tribble. That’s when the magic begins. This is a delightful, charming, and very funny story with good family values for kids of all ages. If you are familiar with Chow’s other movies, “Shaolin Soccer” and “Kung Fu Hustle”, you’ll know his sense of humor and style of film making. It is in Chinese with English subtitles. It is a great father/son relationship film; even though the son is actually played by a girl (she had the right face for the part).

Alien gives it 3 “UFO” stars out of 4.
