Alien at the Movies

It's a modern day Frank & Jesse James story when two desperate brothers (Chris Pine & Ben Foster) rob branches of the bank that is about to foreclose on their late mom's ranch. All the while, they are being pursued by a Lone Ranger (Jeff Bridges) & Tonto law enforcement team. Pine, Foster, & Bridges give terrific portrayals but the supporting cast of locals steal their scenes in grand Texas style. The film moves along at a rather slow pace as these bank robbers travel between these tiny bleak towns of West Texas. It is a cat & mouse game between a crotchety lawman nearing retirement & a deadbeat dad trying to help his kids.

Alien gives it  2½ "Texas Midland Bank" stars out of 4.
