Alien at the Movies

Due to a drinking problem, unemployed Gloria (Anne Hathaway) gets kicked out by her live-in boyfriend & returns to her hometown. There, she reconnects with an old elementary school friend Oscar (Jason Sudeikis) & thus a very odd love/hate relationship develops. Bizarre is a good label for this very dark comedy that also features a giant Godzilla-size monster & equally huge robot that mysteriously appear out of thin air & threaten to destroy Seoul, South Korea). Don't bother to apply any common sense to understanding this fantasy plot. It also doesn't help that these 2 main characters aren't very likable. It's unconventional quirky humor that probably very few will actually appreciate & most will ask what did I just witness or what was the point of this film.
