Based on a true story, Megan Leavey (Kate Mara) is a young screw-up whose only goal in life is to escape from her hometown & family. When she enlists in the U.S. Marine Corps for this opportunity, she ends up bonding with an aggressive dog named Rex & is sent to Iraq as part of a bomb detection & disposal unit. This is an amazing love story between two warriors wounded in the line of duty, become separated, & must find a way to be reunited. Mara is a good actress & is convincing but seems a little slight to be a Marine. This moving tearjerker honors the veterans & brave soldiers fighting for our country overseas. If you are a veteran, dog lover, or a patriot, check out this great little film. Common, Tom Felton, Edie Falco, & Bradley Whitford round out the cast.
