Wind River

It's "Thunderheart" with a touch of "Dirty Harry" when a green FBI agent (Elizabeth Olsen) teams up with a veteran game tracker for the US Fish & Wildlife Service (Jeremy Renner) to investigate a suspicious death on the Wind River Native American Reservation in Wyoming. This is terrific old fashion slow burn crime drama. Suspense builds slowly as the mystery trudges along in this bleak & snowy isolated land where you are on your own because there is no backup; only to explode at the inevitable climax. The acting is excellent. The backdrop sets the mood. Learn a little about tracking & a little about Native American people & their culture.
Alien gives it 3½ "cowboy justice" stars out of 4.
