Welcome to the world of high stakes Texas Hold’em Poker as a young man deals with his estranged father, his new love interest, and his gambling addiction. Eric Bana is compulsive, high risk, and destructive. Drew Barrymore is sweet, charming, and funny, but is only a side bet here. Robert Duvall is tough, wise, and commanding. Their performances are terrific, but the real star of this movie is the game of poker. So if you love the game, you’ll enjoy the strategy of betting, buffing, raising, folding, and calling. However, if you don’t understand the game or care about it, you may be bored to tears and you better find another game to play. Stay to the end of the credits for one last bet.
