Kung Fu Panda
DreamWorks latest animated endeavor tells the mystical and kung phooey tale of a panda named Po, son of a noodle maker, who dreams of becoming a kung fu warrior. In this classic story about believing in yourself to overcome great odds, Po along with his mentor and the furious five warriors must defend Peaceful Valley from the powerful and evil Tai Lung. This film is a delicious slice of cartoon violence for hyperactive kids. The movie stages those familiar martial arts scenes that you want to see, but with a hysterical twist to them. The warrior training scenes are hilarious. The animation of Jack Black’s panda character is absolutely amazing. You can see Black’s expressions in Po. If you love pandas, kung fu, cartoons, and Jack Black, you’ll love this delightful treat.
Alien gives it 3 ½ “secret of the dragon scroll” stars out of 4.
