Hancock

Look up in the sky, it’s an angel, it’s a god, it’s Superman… no, it’s Hancock! Who is this mystery man who seems to cause more damage as he tries to save lives? What if a superhero had amnesia and was little more than a super-strong, selfish, alcoholic in need of a good PR man. Only Will Smith can make such an obnoxious character charming and likeable. This “good guy” doesn’t seem so good in the beginning. Jason Bateman is his usual funny comical self, but the beautiful Charlize Theron will surprise you. If you are getting tired of those typical superhero films, this intriguing action/comedy/love story may offer the refreshing different perspective that you might be looking for. It is just light-hearted fun that is not to be taken too seriously. It is rated “PG-13 for sci-fi violence and language. Parents beware; Hancock may not be the role model that you want their little ones to see.

Alien gives it 3 “Spaghetti & Meatball Thursday” stars out of 4.
