Nobody’s Fool
Tanya (Tiffany Haddish) & Danica (Tika Sumpter) are polar opposite sisters. One is the black sheep of the family. She is streetwise, lewd & crude. She just got released from prison. The other is an intelligent, ad agency exec who may have been “catfishes” by her online boyfriend. Whoopi Goldberg plays their pot using mother. Haddish is hilarious as that stereotypical loud mouth black woman from the hood who takes no guff from anyone. Produced, written, & directed by Tyler Perry, this is a tale of 2 stories. Haddish is featured in “The Odd Couple” portion when she moves in with her sister & hilarity ensues. Sumpter’s part is the usual rom-com premise as she searches for Mr. Right. It’s the age old moral about don’t judge a book by its cover. But don’t get too comfort as the filmmakers add a surprise cameo & an unexpected twist. This “R” rated film is in your face & over the top with its sexual innuendos as well as with its intimate coupling moments as well as full of f-bomb loaded language. Look for a gag reel to play during the ending credits.
Alien gives it 3 ”The List” stars out of 4.
