Robin Hood

This is not a sneak preview. This film has already released.

The legendary story of Robin Hood is retold once again on the big screen. Robin of Loxley (Taron Egerton) & a Moor (Jaime Fox) return from the Crusades to stop the corrupt taxation from the Sheriff of Nottingham (Ben Mendelsohn). Egerton, Foxx, & Mendelsohn along with Jamie Doran & F. Murray Abraham are a terrific ensemble. However, their talents may seem wasted as this script tries to give this classic tale a modernize look & feel instead a real & authentic one. If you are just into slick action & don’t mind twisting the storyline to fit today’s action expectations, then you may have a good time. This is an action sequence driven plot that strives to look good on screen rather than adhering to historic details. There is no band of merry men but there is a John, a Will, a Tuck, & of course a Marian. The ending poses a set up for a possible sequel if this film proves profitable.

Alien gives it 2½ “creative symbolic anachronism” stars out of 4.
