The Grinch
Dr. Seuss’ holiday classic about that mean old pot bellied green one gets a reboot by the creative people at Illumination, the makers of the Despicable Me/Minions franchise. This crotchety Grinch still hates Christmas & all of the inhabitants of Whoville who celebrate it. Therefore, he plots to steal their Christmas with the help from his loyal dog Max & a fat reindeer named Fred. This is a hilarious animated gem with lots of laughs & sight gags galore for the young & old alike. The film is filled with those wonderous Seussical gadgets & contraptions while echoing those familiar Seuss rhymes. Little Cindy Lou Who is as cute as ever. The Grinch’s heart may have expanded threefold but that 26 minute TV special has now been delightfully expanded fourfold for more family fun.
Alien gives it 3½ “lonely heart” stars out of 4.
