Violent Night

It’s “Bad Santa” meets “Babysitter Must Die” meets “Die Hard” meets “Home Alone” in this black comedy featuring an unlikely anti-hero for the holiday season. Armed criminals led by Mr Scrooge (John Leguizamo) attack a wealthy family compound in an attempt to steal millions but they encounter a unexpected visitor… old Saint Nick (David Harbour)... not a department store hired Santa’s helper but the real deal. But he has become jaded, has fallen off the wagon, & wants to quit the business. Santa is not invincible but it’s shades of Thor & Nancy Kerrigan as he reeks havoc on those on his naughty list. It’s a bloody violent spoof of those sappy Christmasy films trotted out during ‘tis the season; as well as poking fun at those “fly in the ointment” action flicks. Welcome to the party, pal. Despite all of the over the top violence, there still is that Christmas spirit & magic message as you got to believe in that jolly old big man with his sack of presents. It’s twisted R-rated fun that is not family friendly.

Alien gives it 3 “money grubbing” stars out of 4.

Comments:
I heard it's very gory
