Orphan: First Kill
Esther, the wicked evil, is back in a prequel to the 2009 “Orphan”. The plot twist laid out in the original provides this storyline path. A 31-year-old psychopathic clever con artist with a rare form of dwarfism escapes from an Estonian Sanatorium & assumes the identity of an American family’s missing child, Esther. It’s a cat-and-mouse game as the little psycho tries not to blow her cover while family & others begin to detect inconsistencies. This film is about a family union, family secrets, a mother’s devotion to her kids, murderous killings, & blood spatters. There are certain givens in a prequel but just when you think you know where the plot is going, maybe you don’t. I️f you liked the original, you’ll probably like this prequel. Isabelle Fuhrman reprises her creepy role & Julia Stiles plays the mother. As wild as this series seems, these 2 films were actually inspired by true events.
Alien gives it 3 “choker” stars out of 4.
